My latest book, Love: The Art of Cherishing the World is available widely as an audiobook and as a digital book!
You can find it (almost) wherever you find your audiobooks and your digital books.
Thank you for your eyes on this page. If you’re a writer or a reader of books in print, digital, or audio, this post is for you.
I write to dabble and wander around in my brain pan on a nearly daily basis. I wander around in the real world of the Colorado Rockies.

I wander around in the digi-world, too, and write about that so I can sort out my thinking and experience my experiences. I spend time on my comfy green couch doing “Couch Studies.”

Then, I sit down with my laptop to edit to possibly publish. Then, I publish what I’ve written to a specific purpose every few years. I publish to share something I hope is helpful to someone somewhere. I publish other people, too, in the spaces between when my own work is published.

To create this book, Love: The Art of Cherishing the World, I wrote for five years after the last book, Soft Hearted Stories, trying to figure out what was happening to me and my communities and found monsters lurking there, specific and new kinds of monsters– within and without. I wrote it to free myself. Then wrote it to publish for an audience.
It is now available in audiobook wherever you find your audiobooks! (See the green dots in the figure below). This audiobook was produced by Coupe Studios in Boulder, Colorado. It’s distributed through Authors Republic. If you’d like a code to read for free, inquire within. I’ll give you a code in a hopeful exchange for your honest review.

From the wandering and writing to the publishing, this book turned into this: a myth-soaked memoir, a multi-threaded auto fiction, a story that included monstrous forces, ghosts-as-machines, and lots of poets and activists, too.

If you’d like a print copy to accompany your audiobook, I have some! $25 to PayPal: JForrester93 or Venmo: @jenny-forrester-1.

My friend and co-conspirator, a voice I truly trust, a writer and author of immense power and revolutionary wisdom, Mai’a Williams said this in her blurb for the cover: “A surreal world of devilish men, tech bros, crypto girls, brash rural bar pool players, bible thumping republicans, trauma hoarding anarchists, and so many more archetypes of the modern world.-Mai’a Williams, author of Apocalypse Here and The Future of Love
And Karen Karbo, author of many books, said this in her blurb for the cover: “A fierce, magical memoir that refuses to behave itself. Part confession, part fever dream, part furious love letter to a world on fire, her incandescent prose burns straight through illusion, hypocrisy, tribalism, and everything else making it so damn hard to be alive right now. Less a narrative than an epic and hugely entertaining throw-down, I’ve simply never read anything like it.”-Karen Karbo, author of In Praise of Difficult Women
Jessica Mehta, author of many books and visual artist extraordinaire, said this in her blurb for the cover: “Forrester’s sentences crackle with philosophical grit and heartache, always circling back to that fragile, necessary question: How do we keep cherishing a world that keeps breaking?”-Jessica Mehta, author of Savagery and When We Talk of Stolen Sisters
Ariel Gore, my longtime teacher and mentor, said this in her blurb on the cover: “Jenny Forrester writes with the kind of raw, clear-eyed tenderness that comes from surviving your own idealism. It’s funny, furious, and deeply humane—a love letter to the messy, contradictory work of cherishing a world that keeps breaking our hearts.”-Ariel Gore, author of Atlas of the Human Heart and We Were Witches.
Mo Daviau, author of Every Anxious Wave and Epic and Lovely, wrote this about LOVE in her The Brave Bookstore Holiday Gift Guide 2025! Substack. “Once upon a time, Jenny Forrester lived in Portland and hosted the Unchaste Reading Series, a cozy gathering of female-identified writers that took place in a basement bar. Nowadays, Jenny lives in Colorado, the rough-and-tumble setting for our heroine to encounter sexy but troubling Republican men, the devil, and her own soft heart. This delightful collection of autofictional short stories is the perfect gift for the smart and over-it middle aged women in your life. It’s also really funny. I love Jenny and you will, too. Order direct from Jenny by sending $25 (or more!) via Venmo: @jenny-forrester-1 or PayPal: JForrester93. Put your mailing address in the notes section.”
Mo and I also sat IRL to discuss the book and so much more at BOLD Coffee and Books in Portland, Oregon where she lives and I used to live and am still writing about. You can find a copy of LOVE in print at Bold, too.
You can also find the book in Colorado at Colorado’s oldest bookshop, Macdonald Bookshop. You’ll have to call this number, using your phone as a phone and ask for it: 970-586-3450, old fashioned, small town way.
Here’s the book launch we did there with Hillary Leftwich, Rowena Alegria, and Shelli Rottschafer, all authors and teachers and many other wonderful things and all contributors to Mountain Bluebird Magazine, as well.

Thank you for reading this page and for reading Love: The Art of Cherishing the World.
